Yep, really.

But not juston this one bad review...critics in general are divided on this...Ebert and Roper LOVED IT...which, btw, means something to me (I like them, especially Roger...he rarely lets me down)...but this film has BLOATED written all over it. This is sorta the first time this has been done (pt I and II, done at the same time-except for LOTR and that was planned)... long shooting shcedule, over budget...and a wild man for a director, who is well known to indulge his every whim, interest, etc. There is several mentions on the dvd extras of pt I that QT was teaching himself how to direct in this genre...talented guy, but not everything he does is going to be genius.

I'm not saying that I'm not gonna see it, and perhaps, enjoy it...I just think I'll be more comfortable at home with the dvd. I don't like going to the theater that much...for reasons that have been mentioned by others here quite often.

BTW...did anybody else think the fight scene where Uma takes out about 50-100 guys just before doing in Lucy...went on to long? I get that it is a homage to other films...well done, but loooong! (...and the fight with Lucy-short!).

For vol one, I loved the Vivica Fox begining, the hospital scene, and really like the 5-6-7-8's as a band. The opening "feature attraction" bit is also fun, and I got a chuckle out of the "P" wagon.

FWIW, I agree with the above posted ratings on QT's films, except for Jackie Brown... B- in my book, but this is based on QT's previous work...a so-so follow up to his first two great works, with an out of this world cast.

2 cents worth,

Gary
