Yeah, I'm excited about this movie, but though the release may be limited, I think I saw it advertised for Cinemark theaters in Plano, rather than the "art house" theaters (Angelika, Magnolia, Inwood).It will certainly be released in the U.S. market--months after the movie--as an R1, and it may be well done--remember that "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" was even releaesed in a Superbit version.
I am fully aware that American cinema often butchers foreign movies, but is it also possible that it might be improved in some ways--i.e., the subtitles might better translated, etc?
And lastly, many of us only have region 1 players, though I know that region free players are available over the net. Since I use my player for home theater AND high-end audio (SACD, DVD-A), I think I prefer the U.S. univeral players (e.g., Denon, Marantz and others).
