Jack G,The description of this dinner was priceless. I have occassionally gone to dinner with someone who is recognized in public and it's a very odd feeling to be inspected by other diners as an appendage!
As someone from "out of town", and a mere sprout at the time, this was the first I had ever heard the term "golden showers". I thought at first it was some kind of sudden bestowing of numerous, expensive gifts, but then I found out the "gift" is easily available, portable, and as cheap as they come! Doesn't even come with a "get dry soon" card..
Cheers,
