And in both films he plays the reluctant good guy, forced into it. If I recall, Stalag 17 was based upon a true story. I have always wondered how much if it was true. Certainly, the prisoners planning an escape. But how elaborate? How much contraband was there? Were there really prisoners content with being prisoners of war? Good film.
