Also "River's Edge" from about the same time was very cool. If you would like to see some more exciting David Lynch films but are not sure which are good, I would suggest "Lost Highway" and "Mulholland Drive" as being great views. "River's Edge" was not a Lynch film, but it did have Dennis Hopper! "Wild at Heart" is equally as disgusting as "Blue Velvet", yet funny in his sick sort of way...
