wished for a better edited film. Ganz could have been a major star in the 20s: his face is more expressive than speaking actors, today.
But, ultimately, the film fails in the "one of the greatest" category because of the lack of attractiveness of the female lead. Also, the scene in the bar with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds went on and on and on...
I don't want to say too much negative, however, and give the wrong impression. This is a magical, brilliant, and uplifting film which affirms the human condition. Shouldn't all art if it aspires to greatness?
