...disclaimer - this is not a 'great' film nor one which will be long remembered by any means. But if you're a fan of the 'action film genre', whatever that is these days, I highly recommend it.I just heard on the radio that this film was number one at the box office and broke some Labor Day weekend record. I saw it last night and it's the most fun I've had at the movies since 'Wedding Crashers'.
Action movies have become so unbelievable with their wild car chase scenes, unbelievable stunts, fights where the hero takes on 10 kung fu experts, and the all the rest. So this film does them all one better and makes them VERY outrageous - not only unbelievable, but impossible, violating just about every law of physics along the way. You not only have to 'suspend belief', it helps to leave your belief at home. While the hero does it all with a straight face, it's a real hoot.
Good mindless, escapist fun.
