Superbly casted, acted, and directed. Brought the book to life. With the exception of Frederick Forest as Blue Duck (or whatever the bad ass indian's name was) all the characterizations were right on point. Robert Duvall's portrayal was one of his best. I repeat tho, Fredrick Forest was a huge downer but not enough to knock the overall rating down even a smidgeon.One of the best westerns ever, ***1/2, Joe Bob says check it out!
