I'm sure you know that DB was a TV movie with several episodes. I remember in the early 80s when it was shown here in Norway late at nite since it was not for kids. Unfortunately I was a kid and only saw a few episodes. As I recall each episode was pretty long, like an hour and a half or so, I wonder how much great filming is lost in the movie version. I dont remember excactly the number of episode or their length since its about 20 years ago and I wasnt aloud to see em all.
Anybody know how many episodes and total hours the original DB was? I wonder if the whole original film is available in a multi DVD package?

While on the warmovie genre, i once saw a movie I really liked and would like to get but dont know its title. It was depicting germans fighting russians and the main caracter was sgt.steiner I think. Any clues?
My problem watching most warmovies is the incredible capacity of all the magazines, the unrealistic marksmanship of good guys and the everlasting america saves the world. Not to mention the inaccuracies in military conduct, like saluting indoors and on the battlefield, details I know, but they irritate me. Course gotta remember most of the warmovies from the 40s and 50s had an audience of a generation whos fathers were over there, many didnt come home and it was important to get the fealing they all did a heroic job. Dont get me wrong, most of them did on all sides, but now a days the more realistic and factual approach should be used.

I find I have even greater problems watching action movies like MI2. The action is just so extreme and unreal its way past ridiculess. Espescially the shooting, the good guy catches a gun flying through the air and hits all targets while the bad guys empty fifty holywood clips and hits nada. Okey if the claim it as a cartoon made with real people since then I'd expect nothing less. what happened to the good old movies with Steve McQueen and Eastwood where theyd actually show the characters doing normal stuff like walking across a street. i must be getting old. one good action flick thats not 30 years old is 'The Usual Suspects', great movie.
