I have the director's cut on DVD and for some reason the dubbed English 5.1 track is clearer than the German one so although I prefer to watch films in their origianl language I chose the English soundtrack. This is quite possible the best submarine movie ever made (well, "Crimson Tide" does come close). It is incredibly claustrophobic and captures what it was like in an early WW II U boat. The story and actinga re first rate, as is Wolfgang's Peterson's direction. Recommendeed.
