I picked up the Superbit director's cut of Das Boot the other day and watched it again. Damn thing is spread across two DVDs, and forces the viewer to suffer through another menu/dts splash/FBI warnings/etc. Man that drives me nuts! Just continue the film when disc 2 is inserted! How hard can that be?But, I digress... This film is fantastic, and I love the musical score by Klaus Doldinger. Jurgen Prochnow's performance is simply astonishing, closely followed by Herbert Gronemeyer's. Who knew that he could sing AND act?
