China is using them in its universities to block the cheating, and in Germany they tried to jam the cell phones in jails, where criminals continued doing business from their cells... cells... shit... all this pun...However do not expect a theater jammer any time soon - who would like to be the first exposed to a large liability suit? A doctor on call, instead of staying home, going to the movies, with his patient die in the meantime...
But eventually, who knows... in fifty years?... there will be cell-free zones... as soon as they learn how to jam just one room and not every phone in a 1km radius.
Movies is one thing. Concerts, ESPECIALLY the recorded performances, is another. I have a CD where the artist asks the audience SEVERAL TIMES to turn OFF the phones... well, sure as hell, in the middle of one song there is that familiar Nokia tune...
And that sort of stuff is going to stay with us, unlike your unpleasant memories of a trip to the movie theater.
A Met Il Trovatore with fifty call just in the second act?
