I thought Jungle Fever was sophomoric and that the characters were too two-dimensional. For me it had plenty of those Spike "moments", especially when he injected himself into the scenes.
"I got the fever."
"The fever?"
"The fever."
"The fever?"
"The jungle fever."
That's just annoying writing. We get it already.
And I thinkTerence Blanchard's scores were featured in earlier Spike films, most notably "Mo Better Blues". That is actually a pretty good movie if you can get past the spike moments. Heck, even Do the Right Thing is better than Jungle Fever.
The best Spike Lee film (by far) was Clockers.
