I hate Charlize Theron-type moments. Beautiful actresses that play uglies: it's like DeNiro putting on 60-lbs. for a role. Who cares? It's the acting that matters and it was a one-note performance.
Second, a major flaw, was the one-sided characterization of a complex character, showing her to be nothing but a non-stop drug-taking-machine.
Lives seldom are this one-dimensional, even for the most serious drug abuser.
The film was almost nihilistic and had nary a surprise, a novel thought throughout its 2-hours.
