Each played a much bigger role in the story. If there was any character who could have been excised without changing the entire scope of the film, it was George. All he did was go out for donuts with Dave who tried to manipulate him into robbing the office, whine that "they're gonna bounce me out of a job" and lament that he was under suspicion for the robbery. If you could watch this film and come away thinking Arkin stole the show, you surely have rocks in your head. As I said before, the relationship between Shelley and Ricky are the key to this story.
More relevant to your whining, we have a certain duilawyer claiming the movie sucks. You didn't even reply to that. Instead, you're getting on my case, telling me I don't understand it even though I've studied it time and time again, am more familiar with it than you are, and count it among my favorites. Obviously you don't really care about Arkin's role in this nor are you interested in extolling the virtues of it, as you would have replied directly to the lawyer who claims it sucks. You just saw an opportunity to lash out at me since you hold a grudge from another forum, and now you're making an ass of yourself on both forums. Enjoy.
