What should the Deputy have done? Well, once you get rocked back on your heels you are in REAL trouble, but two on one might have saved him. His two arms would have been stronger than the bad guys one, so he should have used both arms to peel one of Javier's arms away (left presuming its the weakest), then faced left to breath. Then scooted his left arm behind Javier's back to turn himself around to face "Chugar".
Is it ridiculous to try and figure out answers to fictional stories?
Maybe. I do hate fictional movies with prologues that tell what happened to the fictional characters.
