"Jazz," by the Burns Bros. I've only seen #7, the Be Bop disc, but it truly is

magnificent. Way, way too often, material such as this is set to a later grade school level, the information given out in tiny bits and repeated. The BBs have perfected the presentation of complex material in innovative, interesting ways. The musical selections are terrific and the audio quality is superb.
I picked this disc because I am a hopelessly addicted fan of Miles and Parker: quite a bit of it is about what led them to their musical innovation and also fairly detailed biographical information.
No jazz fan can miss this!
I'm immediately heading off to the library to get #8, hoping it has similar treatment of Trane.
