At least, I like the nice theaters. If the film is presented decently, I enjoy it. Presented really well, with a good audience, I'm in seventh heaven.
Nothing compares to seeing a movie up on the BIG screen in a darkened auditorium, with an (attentive) audience of people who really want to be there, especially when the sound and PQ are very good. It's the communal experience I love, and of course the sense of scale, the immersion, the theatricality of it all. No HT can compare to that experience IMO - yet.
And yes, I know all about bad manners, screaming kids, ringing cell phones, yakking people blah blah blah. Prints incorrectly framed, out of focus, yup been there done that. But the great experiences make up for the duds. (Seriously, I do NOT even attempt to see Wall-E or Harry Potter on a weekend matinee.)
But when it's good, it's great, and it keeps me going back.
I don't watch much on TV either. I - erm - read BOOKS. And I do watch some movies on T, either DVD or on TCM, Sundance, or IFC.
Goin' to the movies is still a fun ritual for me!
