last line of my original post was "tongue-in-cheek."
I can understand watching Helen Mirren as a detective or Alec Guiness as a spy. But, with limited time available and a choice between second rate actors starring in tv series with second-rate writers and directors or classic films? When one factors in the visual aesthetic of film over tv, as well, it isn't a tough decision.
Nothing "wrong" in and of itself now, except.... why watch good when great is just as easy?
