How many people in India can define their life experiences by the questions on a western game show? Zero. The idea is idiotic. How it ever got made into a book, let alone a movie, let alone an oscar winner is a travesty.
"Silent/non overt commentary on the caste system"? That's the stupidest analysis I've ever heard.
As for the problem with Muslim/Hindu violence, the problem is not Hindus. I've traveled extensively in the third world, including Nepal. The 85% Hindu majority there get along swimmingly with the 15% Buddhist minority. So let's not pretend. We know damn well why India has had nonstop violence since the advent of Islam, culminating in the split of Pakistan which then fought three wars against India, losing them all, and resorting to terrorism. Most recently an attack in Mumbai, turning its biggest hotels into infernal bloodbaths. Tell me when the brits intend to make an honest movie about what really goes on in Mumbai. It's not a fucking game show. And when young muslims go out in a blaze of suicidal insanity screaming "God is great" it's not for redemption, it's for terrorism. Everything about this movie was disgusting.
