not great performances. The modest script (you've seen this many times before) avoids the major clichés of the genre and actually is the strongest part of the film. I can't say as I cared much about the guy and Maggie's okay but her character is nothing new. In other words, both of them walked a well-worn path, neither one contributing anything new perhaps as a result of the script.
I was entertained to the end, however. Colin Farrell showed that it is harder to appear an entertainer than might be obvious: he was unconvincing as hell.
Duvall contributed nothing at all. Nothing.
