Maggie's role was underwritten and I'd have to go as far as saying she is miscast. The screenplay just didn't give her an opportunity to show why this woman would fall for an aging, drunken, washed-up country music singer. Even so, her talent kept the love story from becoming a distraction. Check her out in "Secretary."
