Missouri Breaks, Cuckoo's Nest, A Few Good Men. And that was about it. Lots of good hammy comedic work over the years, but nothing really striking. But who cares? If he'd only done, The Passenger, I'd still rate him highly. It is a bravura performance. Astonishing. It created an icon; Jacks' performance, more than any others with the possible exception of Brando's in Last Tango, put flesh to the Bellows/Pinter/Mailer/Beckett/Burrough post-Modern Man.
