the new Superbit version of Fifth Element is Killer! I haven't compared any other ones to originals yet.In the realm of normal DVDs, Star Wars Episode I is pretty good, but as long as you remember that it IS a technology movie- that is most of the SFX are in EVERY scene- therefore you should watch this with director commentary BEFORE passing judgement, IMHO.
I liked the latest transfer (MGM version) of This Is Spinal Tap- not a groudnbreaking picture, but the sound trakc is pretty good. the format shows up the 16mm film stock (this could be bad if you want crystal clear shots. I'm only recommending it because the DVD has resolution to show the grain in the film stock).
Check out DVD Review on line for their say as well.
Cheers,
Dman
