"Farscape is Lost in Space for the 90's"Exactly. And thats the problem. Lost in Space was too insipid for me to watch even as a child when it originally aired. A camp video cartoon with plots, acting and scenery closer to the Batman tv series than anything before or since. Good riddance.
I have to admint I loved season one of Farscape but since then it has gotten progressively more tired, derivative and lame. The obligatory "we passed through a light show and the cast swapped peronalities episode". The "we're in a weird warp where everything is the opposite of normal episode", etc,...yeesh. We've seen all of this before from the original Star Trek and the follow-up ST Next Gen several times already. Its really getting too predictalble. And the addition of new charcters of neglible interest has only eroded it further in my opinion. This seems to be a recurring pattern of the overly manipulative programming execs at the Sci Fi channel where they seem to recast and reposition their original programming with such distrubing regularity that from one season to the next their series display little or no continuity whatsover, or simply disappear after one seson never to be seen again.
This show has become so tiresome that while I used to have it programmed as a timer event on my Direct TV system, I've now erased that listing and almost never watch it anymore.
