What's your interpretation of the final scene?
Mine is she didn't kill the people on the other world and came over because she won the contest. Note that she was dressed better, -wasn't depressed- Therefore, the man was able to see his family ;)
We'll have to agree to disagree about global warming until the next global cooling scare comes along
