You get 300 days of sunshine, no bugs and very little humidity.
Sacramento does get hot in the summer.
And it's more expensive.
Sacramento is ok, could better and could be worse.
Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, Monterey, the wine country, Big Sur, Yosemite are all faily close.
