"Dawn of the Planet of the Apes:" no way is this superior to the

first film starring Franco and Lithgow. This time around, zero stars: usually a bad indication of cost-cutting and placing quick profits above a riskier investment, "take the money and run--- look at the script!"
And, indeed, this showcases an embarrassment of writing. There may be a cliché unused, but I don't really think so.
I can sum it up, if you'd like.
Men: some bad, some good.
Apes: likewise.
Contrast this to "Snowpiercer" with its developed characters, clever action, intelligent views expressed in artistic and mature manner--- it's the difference between a cartoon (albeit one with fascinating artwork [Fx]) and a good painting.
