Unfortunately, this episode leans towards the human side of Reacher with the introduction of a daughter and a closening relationship with a MP Major, like himself. Cruise does his usual yeoman's job of being the guy made of stone (he's showing middleage in the face) while Smulders did a decent job of an officer wronged at the hands of international arms dealers. Danika Yarosh plays Reacher's long-lost (or not) daughter who gums up the action with typical teen attitude that makes you want to strangle her. All the other characters are cardboard or punching bags.
I liked Reacher1 better: more action, less human interest. This film shows that Reachers "cares" but certainly doesn't feel comfortable with emotions that go along with it.
You will get a sizeable portion of action but you could have had more without the side-story. Doesn't matter if you are a Reacher fan, I guess.
PS. Can anybody be as tough as Reacher?
