...It is my understanding that the "buttery" flavor of most movie grade popcorn is entirely contrived and contains nothing resembling butter. Thus, the concept of "shelf life" is really non-applicable in the context of a human timeframe: kinda like Mobil 1 in its various forms. The exception may be at the Art House establishments (esp on the coasts) where they use organic buttery flavoring.
