It might help you make sense of it. It bored me a bit, but I didn't suffer from the giant misinterpretation that you apparently do. Afrofuturism can be linked to many musical artists such a Sun Ra and even George Clinton. Of course, we don't know if that resonates with you since you don't share with us your music system or musical preferences.
