I saw "Invaders From Mars" as a young child and was traumatized by the thought that my parents could be turned into alien enemies and betray me. I finally got over this when I saw "Manchurian Candidate". As for the flying monkeys in "WoOz", I think Mike Myers (as "Wayne" from SNL) coined the phrase: "yeah, when monkeys fly out of my butt".
