It's sad that you have spent so long to come to largely false conclusions...

We've been around the loop many times about distortion and audibility, so I won't do that again.

I will just point out the rather obvious that even all the so-called perfect measuring, inexpensive (yes, I consider $1000 inexpensive for a high end DAC) DACs sound different. If they are so low in distortion to give you "just the facts" then where are the sonic differences coming from? When you can explain that (and no, I don't consider "It's my imagination" a suitable explanation), then maybe we can discuss.


Surely there are other ways for you to hear and compare expensive to inexpensive DACs, other than buying them? I can't afford the most expensive ones either but I am quite familiar with their sound nonetheless.
