Home Computer Audio Asylum

Music servers and other computer based digital audio technologies.

What software would you use?

At home I use Roon via a few raspberry pi's running Ropiee with different hats.

But this about work. I want to cut expensive and low performing internet access by switching to cell phone tethering in both my retail spots. So no more streaming from Pandora.

Here's my plan: Using a raspberry pi as a music server to play back from an attached ssd. Sound quality isn't ultimately important but I'll spring for something like an Allo Boss dac on top. I will create a playlist that will be on a never ending 6 hour loop so my employees can't pick and play their music.

The important thing is that it has to be fairly simple so that I can diagnose a problem via text or phone call because one of my retail paces is over 4 hours drive from where I live.

Volumio? Rune? LMS?
What say you?
