The marble floor will work against you, whether in stereo or multi-channel.You will need to research serious damping (rugs are a good starting place) for this room to keep it from being too live.
Also, remember that strategies for optimizing stereo and multi-channel are different, so you will need to determine which to optimize for, and accept compromise on the other.
