#1. Your TV does NOT need any OUTPUTS.
#2. Your TV needs at least 1 video input, preferably SVHS or COMPONENT
#3. An AVR (audio/video receiver) will do everything and is cheap these days!#4. Current model Denon 2802 (List 799) or Hamon Kardon 520 (899) will do everything you need.
#5. A good AVR like those above will:
decode Dolby Digital and DTS
provide 5 channels of amplifier power (Front L&R) (Surround L&R) and Center.
Provide multiple video inputs and ONE Monitor out to your TV so it will switch between different video sources for you.
Provide multiple audio inputs
The HK even provide HDCD as a bonus.#6 a POWERED subwoofer is a MUST for true home theater.
