Just get some really good Broadcast qulity cables. Belden 1694a or similar from Comscope, Gepco etc..
Companies such as RhinoCables.com sell cables that will compete with the Bettercables for a whole lot less!
E-bay is full of cable sellers who offer mostly Canare cables.
I would not recomend the DIY route unless you are going to make a lot of cables. The cable, connector and tooling cost just is not worth it.
