Now I've done it! Borrowed projector from work & wife loves it

Ok, thought I'd surprise the wife this Friday, so I borrowed the Viewsonic PJ550 from work & bought Lord of the Rings on DVD. Beat her home, plugged the Panny 56 in to the projector via S-video (don't have component cables lying about), stuck the projector on a table & took a second to focus it reasonably on the bare wall.

What was her reaction that night when the movie started? She was awe struck & found both the picture & the sound much better than in the theater. Came home from a hard day's work Saturday night to find her having rented The Horse Whisperer so we could also enjoy it on the wall.

3 questions:

1) What have I done??

2) Anyone familiar with the PJ550? I like the idea of component inputs, but haven't really compared a good DLP PJ against this LCD in our home (duh...first time bringing a PJ home). The retail on the lamp seems extreme ($450 =/-) but the picture even via S-video is quite nice.

3) How much better would the picture via component really have been? I've been toying with trying an Infocus 340 or 350, but neither have comonent inputs.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts...and wish me luck :)
