Funny you mention the batteries

I won't buy ANYTHING any more that uses AAA batteries, they're a total ripoff (less than half the Ah of AA for more money). I'll take the extra weight of the AA's thanks, if done properly should give a good remote balanced feel. I use the backlight in my remote always since I watch in the dark, I get at least 6 months out of some NiMH with my usage. I may change my mind since the new Pronto uses AAA's, but I definitely down-rate it a lot because of that. If a remote puts out a whopping IR signal, like mine does, there's really no reason to even hold it in your hand, kill the habit, aiming isn't required, so weight doesn't matter. Put the remote on your coffee table and use your hands for something else.
