It's been closer to a year actually. I didn't think you'd believe that, so I said 6 months. I charged up the NiMH last December when I bought the new remote, and haven't had to change them out yet. My point is that AAA's are really weak batteries, in reality about 1/3 the capacity of similar AA's, cost more than AA's, and remotes with backlit screens suck power, so I don't want a remote that uses AAA's. Even remotes with built-in rechargeable packs, the batteries they use in those packs are typically of abominable quality. I know I'm ranting a bit, but I go through so many batteries in my gadgets that I pay attention, and Duracells sure aren't getting any cheaper around here. So I bought a shipload of NiMH, and keep the chargers constantly busy. However, NiMH AAA's are still wimpy, and unnecessary for something that has no reason to be miniature (miniature sells, and people don't consider/know about the battery life/cost).
