I've owned the 42PWD4UY (essentially the same unit as the 42PWD5UY) for seven months. It's possibly the most satisfying electronics purchase I've ever made. Every time I turn it on it blows me away.
I took a year to audition everything I could (RPTVs, Direct-view CRTs etc.) and nothing had the magic the Panny plasma had. Guests agree too: every single person who sees it is floored by the picture quality on DVDs.Another plus is that the 4UY/5UY model is actually quite good at producing NTSC pictures - an area that many large screens of any technology tend to falter in. So, regular broadcast TV, if your feed is ok, can look quite good.
I have yet to see anyone express anything other than bliss when they finally received one of these things. I doubt you'd be disapointed.
