Well, the one I have has dropped in price some but still not in the $1500 range at typical retail outlets. I have the 34" Sony KV-34XBR800 16:9 set. I also looked at the Panasonic when I bought my Sony. I think the Panasonic has come down in price even more in recent weeks.
