The entire first season of SpongeBob is coming to DVD shortly -- list is $49. I'm sure it can be had for less if you look around.
There are remotes with "macro" capability that can fire-up the entire system or just parts of it -- with the touch of just one button.
I'm getting a plasma soon. I'm also planning on moving (by early next summer). I thought about a 42" model, but I think it's going to be a 50" model instead, due to room considerations. It will go in the den at the current house, but when we move, it will go in the living room.
One day I was in the shower, getting ready for work. My wife was in the office on this here POS Windows-virus infected Compaq computer. My (then) 18 month old son decided to go into the living room. He turned on the receiver, surround processor and DVD player. He removed his and my favorite DVD from the shelf -- Britney. He's been a fan since he was 14 months old: I've been a fan since the day she turned 17. He then loaded the DVD into the player. Although he didn't know how to navigate the DVD, he did manage to crank up the volume on the receiver to "11". The beginning of the DVD starts off with the "I'm a Slave for You" music intro automatically. Needless to say, I was treated to pounding Britney Spears music in the shower. Kids do the darndest things, don't they?
Mind you, I'd rather have been just pounding Britney Spears in the shower, but...
