would be to get a DVD with a 5.1 channel test signal, and play it through your setup. If you don't want to buy a test DVD, some movies you can rent have a THX optimizer in the audio set up menu, which is the same thing. I'm thinking maybe the movie "Holes" had it, which we just rented recently.BTW, very fun movie! (And I didn't realize Sigourney Weaver had so many freckles!)
