$1,500 for a TV - Focus on DVD

ok, this is my first foray over to the dark, I mean video, side of the boards. I'm a 2-channel guy, at heart. I don't have a TV or a DVD player, I've been living without TV for over a year now, and it is great. Still, I miss watching movies. So, I'm thinking I would like to get a TV. I went to Circuit City the other day to look, and I was surprised to see that there were some decent looking RP wide-screen TVs of decent size for <$1,500. What brands do you guys like in this range? I'll probably put together a surround sound system eventually, but for now I'll probably just use the 2 channel system. My apartment is too small to accomodate a full on surround system anyway, but I'll be moving in August to a bigger place, so I'd like to get a decent sized TV. Thoughts? Comments?
