Hi Ken - My AC power for the home theater is a mess right now. I have various different pieces, some plugged into a Monster power strip, some plugged directly into the wall. My PS Audio P300 is not in the system at the moment. I might try the 5900 on the P300 just for kicks. I don't think my 1080i pulsing video issue is related to the 5900... I *think* it's my Sony and/or AC power but I'm not too concerned for now as 720p is looking great.No, I haven't tried Pure Direct mode yet for audio as I've been focused mostly on video performance up to now. Also, I'm not really set up for multichannel audio except for what is available via the digital output as this gets routed to the Denon A/V receiver. I should gather up a few more RCA interconnects and get the multichannel capability set up as well.
