HDMI needs some work

Silicon Image was told of a bug inherent to their HDMI transmitters over a year ago. Did they address this and fix it? Nooo!!! It seems that unless the source (DVD player, Set Top Box, etc) does the conversion from YCbCr to RGB before it gets to the HDMI transmitter, below black and above white information will be clipped (just like when components use the incorrect digital PC standard).

They are supposed to be fixing this issue, but so far it's a roll-the-dice situation, unless you can confirm that the source you want to use does the proper conversion before the HDMI transmitter. Another problem is the "normal" vs "enhanced" modes that are offered. The "enhanced" mode chops off part of the signal as well.
