Maybe see what I said to waybad1 just below. They do distort a regular picture if you make it fit the whole screen. Some people don't notice it, but it bugs me, so I don't stretch the picture. Then the black bars bug me. -LOL- How I deal with it: I use mine almost exclusively for ws DVD's, weaning myself off the VHS, replaced my faves with DVD's, don't watch broadcast signals. They ARE nice for movies though, but because of their size, you do have to sit at least 8' away from the smaller ones (which I think mine is). So consider how much space you have.
