Re: Progressive Scan

Progressive scan processes at 60 frames per second. Interlaced is at 30. Some So called Progressive scan machines "Pioneer DV-434" which is marketed as a progressive scan actually does not do the job. It has a line doubler which may or may not work on your TV. This came right from Pioneer Tech Support.
Line doublers can and do cause compatibility issues.
Toshiba has a new line of three models which are 60 FPS.... True progressive scan and reasonably priced. THis came from Toshiba tech support. Toshiba HD's automatically sense interlaced or progressive and adjust accordingly.
Full time progressive, is probably a line doubler. Call their tech support and find out.
1080 can only be achieved from an HD converter.
BTW I have the 40H80 and am very pleased!
Good Luck,
Mitch
