The MC1 is not a bad sounding unit, and is noticeably superior to the DC-1, which I also owned.
If your priority is video, the MC1 is unmatched. If it is audio, and you don't mind settling for less in the way of video goodies, other units like the Classe are a bit better sounding.
My solution is to own the MC1 for video, and continue to use my regular audio preamp for all other sources. You can integrate them without too much trouble.
